• Our music programme is centred around Mullingar Town Bands Mission Statement ‘To Educate, Elevate and Entertain’.

• We focus on ensemble/group learning.

• This programme instils skills such as team work, discipline, musicianship and performance skills.

• The programme includes a three-tier music education programme for all members including:

1. Brass and Wind – all members take part in our recorder and brass and woodwind instrumental courses including music reading and theory.

2. Bucket Drumming – all members learn the very basics of drumming and percussion in an affordable and adaptable manner and become competent in reading and playing rhythms. Members are introduced to basic drumming techniques which can be applied to marching, concert, and kit percussion.

3. Movement – all members take part in the very basics of Colourguard which includes basic training in flag spinning and movement as well as taking part in basic marching training and visual techniques (using body and instrument to express the music we play).
